Parkdale Community Food Bank
We could all use a little soup these days
Soup soothes the soul. Rain or shine, snow or heat wave (okay, not a heat wave). A good ol’ can of love is like a big hug from the inside. The perfect alternative to a real hug during times of social isolation!
And during these trying COVID-19 times, it’s worth considering – how does one stock up on canned food and household items for a two week period of self-isolation if the cost of food for a few days is already too much to bear? Food insecurity affects almost 1 in 5 Toronto households and is recognized as a serious public health issue – and that was before this virus turned up.
The Parkdale Community Food Bank has remained open for business to continue supporting those in need. They are pulling together grocery packages for clients who need to stock up while in isolation.
How you can help
We’re pooling funds with a target of $500 to provide the Parkdale Community Food Bank with more of their most in-demand items: soup, canned tuna, pasta, and diapers. Whatever they need most is what we’ll deliver at the end of the week. Calling all neighbours to be a messenger of a can of love today.
