Navigating adolescent years can be a lot to overcome.   Throw a baby in the mix, and you’ve just added a serious layer of complexity! Becoming a mom when you’re still young yourself is an incredibly tough situation.

Teen moms face challenges with schooling, work, home life, friendships and finances.  Jessie’s Centre offers comprehensive services to help these woman overcome their enormous obstacles. Jessie’s assists young moms dealing with poverty and social isolation and they need more personal hygiene products to offer these youths.

How you can help

We’re pooling funds to purchase hygiene products like shampoo, body wash, toothpaste, toothbrushes etc. Teen mothers have enough on their plate so let’s take personal hygiene problems out of the equation.

Jessie’s Centre was established to offer comprehensive services to pregnant teens and young mothers and their children facing enormous obstacles such as poverty and social isolation.

Today, Jessie’s has 20 staff members and 80 volunteers. They pursue a holistic and sustainable approach, recognizing the importance of economic and social conditions on health outcomes. Jessie’s offers a range of services to help empower the young women they serve – those who choose to terminate their pregnancies as well as the pregnant teens who come through their doors who choose to have their babies. Their programming is developed to help each of them reach their full potential as engaged parents and independent adults.
