More and more families are stocking up on school supplies
Families everywhere are trying to figure out how to turn their homes into homeschools. When schools initially closed for two weeks after March Break, most parents decided to stick with teaching ‘life skills’ instead of tackling the formal curriculum. Now that five weeks have passed and there’s no light at the end of the homeschooling tunnel, these same parents realize there’s only so much benefit an eight-year-old can get from folding laundry and taking out the garbage.
Through our friends at Romero House, a charity offering support and housing services to refugees, we’ve learned about an eight-year-old boy from El Salvador who could use some help stocking his new homeschool.
How you can help
We’re pooling funds to help get this little boy the tools he needs to bring school home. He needs markers, pencil crayons, pencils and workbooks.
